a mystery of the universe defies discovery
by chance it may come into our expanded attention range
but what else can be foisted on a mystery unsheathing but denial
to accept it would be to welcome it into the regular universe

our interest may be stimulated however
and we may position ourselves for the next revelation
we may even, as often does the artist, attempt to create such perfect ambience

esoteric by nature, a mystery deepens with thought and grows dim
only silence is its friend

religion played a vital role in evaluating and organizing society
as did some non-religious thinkers and writers from history
philosophy, delved into knowledge and the nature of life
and through endless tangents carved a middle furrow into which all tributaries flow
or from which new offshoots evolve

the middle furrow is where society is today
whatever its critics say, society works

even those who depart from its mainstream, can only measure their lives in its terms
unless they evolve to a point where to measure their lives would be a foreign concept
having lost ego in their glimpses or acceptance of the mystery

one cannot tell a mystery
leave that to silence
but one may speak of a miracle
a miracle is a seed
