I think you have it. Hedge funds selling out due to redemptions. The funds have bee hit hardest as they are highly leveraged and also use short selling which has been essentially banned for the time being. They have sold off the trash, the solid investments and are now selling the family jewels.
Its not a matter of how good the company prospects are. Its what can they sell to stay afloat. I reckon there's more to come and likely delayed significant invester notices. The next quarterly with an updated Top 20 should give us a hint.
The silver lining is cashed up investors are buying now and hopefully willing to hang in for the longer term like the rest of us true believers.
