I think the recent spike was started from people following the director buying, a lot of shorts also close out their position on the upward spike.

None of those effect the longer term reasons for downward pressure, namely concerns over price deflation and trumpcare so the SP is going back to its longer term direction.

I think the strength of the spike is a good sign that the market realises its undervalued, and people dont want to get left out if it does change direction, but they are still waiting for something to alleviate longer term concerns.
