GME submits comprehensive document in uranium project

Greenland Minerals has submitted a so-called white paper to the Naalakkersuisut. The self-government will now review and comment on the document.

All the while Inatsisartut on Tuesday passed a bill that is expected to put an end to the Kuannersuit project, Greenland Minerals has taken another step in its work to realize the mine project.

The company states on its website that they have submitted a so-called white paper to the Naalakkersuisut.

The White Paper is a comprehensive document in which the company has commented on the issues and concerns that have been raised during the public hearings of the Kuannersuit project.

The consultation took place between 18 December 2020 and 13 September 2021.

No time frame

The Department of Raw Materials and Justice confirms that they have received almost the entire White Paper.

- There is still a bit missing from the last consultation trip, says head of department Jørgen T. Hammeken-Holm and explains:

- Once we have received the White Paper from GME, it is the turn of the authorities to address the consultation issues, which will also be stated in the White Paper. The White Paper must ultimately be approved by the Naalakkersuisut.
