sort of true but u need to remember that over a 20 year period 10,000 is = to nearly 17,000 due to inflation. so if the yield was say 5% u would have your nose in front just... we all hold bank shares but we need to change our thinking. unless your 80 years old and need the income for a few years bank shares are irritatingly average. if your young then reckon you can choose a share if low but growing yield and hopefully a share that appreciates over time. the future is hard to predict though
