    That makes sense UB, keep it wet so it doesn't start oxidising in the air. Can't find the link I found last night about NSW dredge guidelines but it was in relation to their tunnelling project. The 5 hr limit might not apply to Vic but the quicker they can get it underwater at Nagambie the happier they would all be you would think.

    From what I remember from 20 years ago the redox reaction will continue with the exchange of electrons between Ferrous and Ferric ions even once buried or submerged if the silt has begun to oxidise.

    I don't think NAG will be wanting to add lime to the pits for the next 20 years.

    Been thinking too that they will have to wash the trucks down if they will be returning with gravel. Wouldn't want contamination. There must be a wash down area near the dumping site?
