TRS doesnt see Kmart as direct competition, they intentionally set up stores next to them or other similar stores to get foot traffic coming their way (source TRS website)
In my opinion their offering is different also, i usually visit TRS if i pass by on way to Kmart etc and see what they have which is their intention. of course they stock some of the same products but many different ones too which makes them worth a visit.
