Well for a bit of random and highly probably biased (due to being in an area of economic advantage) I did a bit of word of mouth "housewife research", this consisted quite simply of asking a few different housewives about why they though our local TRS shut down and all the other discount shops in the area seem to be thriving.

Interesting to note even though there are still 4 TRS stores in our city they ALL believed there were NONE left, they ALL also thought he chain was close to bankruptcy, they ALL assumed less than 50 store existed in Australia and they ALL also reported products in the local independent discount stores being of a higher quality.

Obviously this is all just perception based and you could take this as both positive and negative.

Negative side being they are not penetrating the market and carry a negative connotation with the name.

Positive being there is still a large potential for growth being some much of the market is still independent stores if we can change that perception where would the growth potential end? (I would suggest there is 2000+ independent discount stores, 30% share may be a nice target?)

Ps: what surprised me was that these "privileged women" ALL had no issue shopping at said independent discount stores but none would be willing to be seen shopping at TRS, strong "circumstantial" evidence to suggest it is name change time, so kudos @Diesteach for the suggestion
