Short sellers from hedge funds and maybe brokers say they want to hear well founded responses simply so they can maintain dialogue on a forum and thus pursue their narrative which is for lower stock prices etc. In the medium term, prices can overshoot allowing the close out of positions. Then the next stage is to disappear from threads whenever there is an opportunity to drive up prices on any glimmer of good news, when they again reload and then return to the forum spreading whatever exaggerated narrative they can get traction with and repeat the process. One is best to have your own valuation and put them on ignore.
