I was actually just doing some rabbit hole searching and found the following. I have mentioned many times that Brainchip's CEO used last year a number of times in the context of VOC detection for Covid-19 partners plural. The following two documents show a consistency of partners who have been working with Professor Haick over a number of years right up to the middle of 2020. If you after reading these documents go off and google Siemens and Sniff Phone you will find a number of references and the latest I found from last year was too the effect that they were struggling to take it to the level they hoped (my words) but this was the effect given the best they could do was offer at an additional cost sensors for your phone which could tell you if you had bad breath. So anyway will leave it for others to advance this research or not but if magically as Professor Haick implied last August, 2020 that in about six months they would have a device and FDA approval somewhere in there NaNose and Brainchip would need someone the size of Siemens to be assisting.When you look at the money Siemens have thrown at this project to progress his research it is hard to imagine they would have been shown the door after all this time. So my wild speculation is that Siemens, NaNose and Brainchip are together on this trip to world Covid-19 testing domination:SniffPhone wins 2018 Innovation Award

We have been awarded the2018 Innovation Awardby theEuropean Commission forMost Innovative Project. This is a greathonor rewarding the excellent work that has been done in this project.
SniffPhone is a compact handheld device that measures exhaled breath forearly diagnosis of cancer. The user holds the device in front of his or hermouth, and exhales onto the SniffPhone. The device then takes a sample of theexhaled breath and measures the contained Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)using highly sensitive nanotechnology-based chemical sensors. The measurementsare sent via Bluetooth using a smartphone to a dedicated cloud platform, wherethey are analyzed by the appropriate medical personnel.
In this way, SniffPhone has an unparalleled advantage over traditionalscreening methods: the device is comfortable and painless to use and provides asimple and cost-effective alternative for medical professionals.
The SniffPhone project is financed under the EU’s Horizon 2020 Programmefor research, technological development and demonstration. The SniffPhone wasdeveloped by a consortium of nine partners from six countries. The nanosensorsof the SniffPhone were developed in Israel, the micropump by Cellix in Ireland,fluidics by Microfluidic ChipShop in Germany, and the cloud platform by VTT inFinland. The clinical studies were carried out at the University of Latvia inRiga, with further testing and technical experimentation done in Austria at theUniversity of Innsbruck. Siemens has taken part in the testing and validationphase of the SniffPhone project and conducted usability studies. JLMInnovation, Germany provides system integration, the device software, theSniffPhone App and algorithms for the measurement system.
The 2018 Innovation Award was granted on the 21stofNovember in Lisbon, at the European Forum for Electronic Components and System(EFECS). SniffPhone was chosen from many highly qualified projects as the mostinnovative concept in Horizon 2020. Project Coordinator Prof. Hossam Haick fromthe Technion Institute of Technology in Israel and Dr. Jan Mitrovics, CEO ofJLM Innovation GmbH received the award at the official ceremony.
Presently, the prototypes of the SniffPhone device have been distributedbetween the medical project partners to carry out further clinical testing. Asa next step in the SniffPhone project, investors are being sought out to bringthe promising research project to the market through a spin-off company. Thepotential of this technology platform could revolutionize cancer Screening forpatients all over the world.
Combining research efforts of nine teams in 6 countries, SniffPhone hasreally achieved something extraordinary, creating an better way to providecancer screening for many patients in the future!

Objective
Screening for early detection ofa disease is required to reveal groups of individuals from the generalpopulation in whom the likelihood of the disease is increased and who couldbenefit from further medical evaluation. The ideal screening test is high-accuracy,low-cost, non-invasive, easily repeatable, effortlessly operated by alay-person and has minimal impact on the person’s daily activities.. In theSNIFFPHONE project, we aim to tackle these requirements by integratingheterogeneous micro- and nano-technologies into autonomous smart system thatcan be attached to a mobile phone and analyze disease markers from exhaledbreath. In this approach, an interaction between breath sample and aminiaturized array of highly sensitive nanomaterial-based chemical sensors isrecorded, stored and pre-processed by integrated miniature on-chipmicrofluidics and electronics, and then the relevant electrical signals aretransferred wirelessly via the mobile phone’s internet to an external server.Statistical pattern recognition methods are then applied on the received dataand a clinical report including the screening results is sent back to thedesignated receiver (e.g., specialist, family doctor) in case of positiveresult is revealed. SNIFFPHONE represents a new concept addressing majorsocietal challenges in health and well-being of the general population, whiletaking into account constituent ethical and security aspects. The SNIFFPHONEend-product will integrate functionalities that are relevant to the health screeningapplications with decreased size (x30-40), decreased costs (x150), increasedpredictive and cognitive functions and full autonomy with energy management aswell as with operation/use management. Besides the R&D and clinical units,the SNIFFPHONE project will involve four European SMEs and one big industrialcompany, thus establishing European competitive ecosystems for the design andcommercialization of innovative miniaturized smart systems.
