We're hoping to show that our formulation delivered as a spray on the inside of the mouth is equally as potent as giving someone a 20mg or 40mg tablet that has been associated with having some side-effects.​

"We expect to have fewer issues with side-effects with the drug delivered in this particular way," he said.​

The developers have used nanotechnology to turn Atorvastatin, the leading drug, into a spray so it bypasses the digestive tract and enters directly into the bloodstream.​

"In the blood, sixty seconds is what we're seeing here with this compound and at a lesser dose to what they're currently taking," Medlab CEO, Sean Hall said.​
