it definitely "seems to high" compared to bhp where you divide the compensation line by total number of employees and get the national average wage.
For comparison, at a third-round saas company in sf, first year software engineers are on 200. kids coming out of a 3 month intensive script school (eg hack reactor) are on over a 100 (USD) doing front end work. That's not ibm, apple, Google etc. That's a company with (significantly) less cash on hand than shifty and a larger headcount (c. 350)
Shifty is a US based saas company with huge funds.
"burn rate" is not a risk for Rocco.
If the product works, the right people are there and there is value in the data they're collecting, vc will throw money at it to get onboard if they need more money
