Ice core sample have seen far greater swings in temps. Even the LOW resolution ice core proxies exceed temperature variabiltiy of the modern digital era that uses instaneous readings and not so truly reflected global temperatures planted on the back of the ice core data.
Or if alarmist are not swayed by that they can then resort to sea level data for which we are told is the result of Co2.
