I haven't seen anyone call your information fake science, jopo. Scientists make predictions based on the information available at the time. In 1972 that was done with the aid of slide rules and long division. Other scientists at the same time made opposite predictions. They obviously couldn't both be right. So now the data is in, and guess what? Your blokes were wrong.
Deal with it. But you won't, because you don't want to know the facts, you just want to be reassured that you're right. Which is why the good Lord gave us Alan Jones.
