It would normally be a difficult trial to run, a product that is most effective when the earliest signs of a common cold are evident. “I’ve got a sore throat, a runny nose and a bit of a headache.” You’re not about to Google nearby clinical trials but you will test yourself for COVID.
My belief is that they will use people who exhibit Covid symptoms but test negative at PCR (or maybe even positive). They’ve presented early, most likely have a cold and will probably be happy to get rid of it. Great time to recruit and Covid has presented a golden opportunity to speed up trial results.
