abdm: Laetril? What a bunch of tosh. Laetril has been studied and found ineffective at best, poisonous at worst.

The FDA regulates and prevents the sale of products which claim to cure disease without evidence for good reason. Alternative medicine, by definition, has not been proved to work or has been proved not to work. Preventing merchants of lucrative but ineffective miracle cures that prey on the weak is an important function of our modern society, not an attempt to impinge on your freedom and "keep us sick."

If you believe that the pharmaceutical/bio-tech industry is so horrible as to deny the world an effective free cure for cancer, why have you supported this by investing your money in a bio-tech company that is part of this conspiracy?

Think about it, if an upstart pharmaceutical company discovered an effective "natural" cure for cancer, they might not be able to patent the treatment, but the accolades, publicity, noble prizes, etc would be worth billions. The company could forever make the claim "We cured cancer."
