People who believe in global conspiracies (of any sort) must have very little experience of the way major corporations and governments work (or more the point, don't work). Such conspiracies require far greater unity of purpose that has or can ever exist in the real world. You don't have to believe everything you read, but if you applied the same level of scepticism and scutiny to the so called "alternative" medicines and the various government conspiracy thories as to current "mainstream" thought you might discover these alternatives are certainly no more rigorous and are likely based on personal and group agendas just as sinister as anything you think government's can dream up.
