Debono. I agree
I personally know of one aboriginal man who, picked up from the side of the road as a newborn by the Christian Brothers in the Kimberley, has since claimed he was stolen.
In that time, the brothers would check the road at the edge of the campsite. Any newborns were left there in those years.
The aim of the mission was to aid that particular aboriginal group to be able to keep a child alive until the age of two.
When that was achieved, through the Christian brothers growing vegetables for the aboriginal group and other forms of aid, there was celebration when the first child survived by the brothers and I'm sure many of the aboriginal women.
My source is my mother who assisted in the archives of the Broome museum. She was privvy to correspondence that was not available to the general public for various reasons.
I wonder how many of those 'Stolen' newborns, would not be alive today to seek compensation for being rescued.
Controversial? Politically incorrect? Potentially moderated? Yes - but factual and true.

Perhaps if you did a bit of research you would find that lawyers are puting together compensation claims currently.
It has been in the news quite recently
hopefully any such unprovable claim will be thrown straight out but it will still cost us, the taxpayer money to defend the claims.
I am sorry Rudd said sorry
