Further National Cancer Hsopital Maharagama is a hospital where several hazardous waste are produced namely infection waste, pathological waste, sharps pharmaceutical waste mainly cytotoxic waste and radioactive waste in addition to general or non hazardous waste.

The existing waste management system at the hospital is highly unsatisfactory and endrangers the patients and employees

"Infectious waste ad sharp bins need to be incinerated for proper disposal. Present gas burner available in the hospital is not enough to cater to the needs of the hospital. Proper incinerator has to be installed in the hospital with a high capacity to deal with the amount of infectious waste and sharp bins generated daily in the hospital.
Estimated cost to Purchase a incinerator will be Rs. 10 million"
