IMO, we need a National Cabinet for Economic Recovery rather than the current management by Crisis job that we currently have that is plagued by political point scoring leading up to the Qld state Election.
Instead we need the best minds that Australia has to offer to plan our way out of the impending Economic Depression caused by Covid-19 and enflamed by the Trump-Xi Economic War. We have a Mickey Mouse outfit politically appointed consisting of Will Powell, Andrew Liveris & Greg Combet who at the end of the day will likely recommend Mickey Mouse bandaid solutions when its too late .
We have had a gutfull of such trivial persuit committees that amounted to nothing. Instead., IMO, we need a high-powered eminent Cabinet For Economic Recovery who will act without fear or favour to plan and execute our way out of this economic mess.
IMO such a Cabinet should have Aussies like: -Ken Henry (Ex Treasury head) -Glen Stevens (ex-Gov RBA) -Ian Macfarlane(ex-Gov RBA) -Malcolm Turnbull (ExPM & eminent businessman/lawyer) -Kevin Rudd ( currently Australia's top China expert & ex-PM) -Jac. Nasser (ex CEO FoMoCo) etc Again, IMO, this special cabinet should only focus on longer term industrial & trade development plans to ensure that Astralia is economically independant within a dcade and profitably positioned to pay down $2 trillion soverign debt likely to be accrued in the interim.
We have enough 'high noon/shoot from the hip' political apparatchiks out there calling their party/hip pockets and IMO the current Will Powell cabal is simply no better.we have had a succession of Aussie Governments 'following te market" which is code for following foreign multinationals that lead & control our market and, as we have seen, who will drop Australialike a hot potatoe when a 3rd World opportunity arises.
We meed action now and not when the horse has bolted.
