According to the IMF, Indonesia is the 7th biggest global GDP (PPP) adjusted while Aus is # 21.
Like the USA being asleep leading up to 2014 when China passed it out in GDP(PPP); we too have been asleep when Indonesia passed us out too !
And at present and into the foreseeable future, Indonesia has the economic growth timber on us via its resource ownership policy and its financial & trade assistance by joining China's OBI.
I know our Right Wing keyboard warriors ( like their Trump counterparts) will say "we have a superior Armed Forces...but.. than the Indos, but the big BUT is for how long will that last when, historically, nations armed prowess was directly related to GDP!
