Some truth in what you are saying. I am still too young to understand it. But must have been a watershed in Australian society around Vietnam and counter culture period. 1968-1975. Have noticed the generations born around 1940-1950 and still alive seem to be more polite, respectful and dignified. Those born say 1950-1960 came of age when trust in govt, anti-war, anti-establishment was at a peak. Some, not all, went overboard it seems. It may have gone downhill from there. The counter culture 'revolutinaries' perhaps short sighted and lacking fundamentals such as manners and respect. I was fortunate to have family and community that still had those old values. And I miss them very much and treasure those still alive. I am not good with loud, opinionated, troublemakers and govt conspiracy theorists....The best generation Australia may have produced is sadly leaving us....
