US official declines to say if US will give Kiev depleted uranium ammunition for Bradleys

According to the Pentagon, since the beginning of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, the United States has allocated more than $24.2 billion for military assistance to Kiev

WASHINGTON, January 25. /TASS/. A US official on Wednesday declined to say whether the US will provide Ukraine with depleted-uranium ammunition for Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and depleted-uranium armor for M1 Abrams tanks.

"I'm not going to get into the technical specifics on either platform," the senior official said at a special news conference.

The reporter that asked the question said depleted uranium ammunition is part of what makes it a tank killer that the Pentagon officials called them.

According to the Pentagon, since the beginning of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, the United States has allocated more than $24.2 billion for military assistance to Kiev. The $3 billion assistance package that was announced on January 6 included Bradley IFVs and self-propelled howitzers. On Wednesday, US officials said that the country will transfer 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Kiev.
