Wed morning heard on the grapevine that the annual litter of cygnets had been seen - 6 we heard. Late arvo and they arrived at our lake just off the shiraz terrace. But just 4. Time for some piccies before I stretched out on the couch with a James Patterson thriller. Minutes later and a thrashing of wings on the water. And then there were three. Bloody eels. Last year they got all but one, and that one I heard was put down due to injuries.
After watching these Minor chicks in their nest just a few feet off the 6th tee, went to photo again today only to find them all gone. They looked too small to be flying and wondered if the crows got them.
