cobalt can occur in several ways one of which is with mafic or ultramafic rocks either as sulphides at the base or as laterite at the top ,here it occurs associated with copper ,nickel, platinoids and perhaps chromium
cobalt in certain sedimentary rocks where it is associated with copper , uranium, and sometimes lead and zinc ,in greenland such conditions only occur on the east coast while the nickel etc tends to be on the west coast
