No, this is wrong. China wasn’t ‘Communist China’ in WW2. Didn’t become communist China until ‘49. In WW2 the West hoped that the nationalist gov. of Chiang Kai-shek would emerge victorious.
(It’s an uncomfortable truth that his nationalist gov. could almost be regarded as fascist… certainly it was an autocracy… but that’s another story).
