That's true. In the mid market to enterprise segment SLC has a decent advantage for customers who have SE Asia presence.
In that market Telstra are good, but also incredibly expensive (in general), Optus sucks so the real competition in the segment TPG/Pipe and Vocus IMO. Vocus has a decent fibre network as well as NZ.
