4700 new active users in 3 months. That's 52 a day. Will only take 1053 years to get the other 20mill users on-board posted maka.
Now by Dave R... Increase of 9,000 over three months makes 36,000 a year. Austrlia's population ~ 24,000,000. So lets assume that generates about 4,000,000 premesis that could be connected. 4 million divided by 36k = 111 years to connect everyone.
However the NBN is currently only available to about 5% of potential customers so the 111 needs to be divided by 20 to produce a balanced result of 5.5 years.
Therefore IF the NBN were available now to every potential customer at the present rate of sign up it would take 5.5 years for everyone to get connected.
Naturally these figures are theoretical as the real world situation will vary this calculation a lot.
