Article this morning in The Australian by Mathew Denholm.
Surprisingly low estimates of the NBN takeup in Tasmania have been revealed to The Australian, after the Tasmanian Govt was forced to release them following a ruling by the State Ombudsman.
Only 16 percent of homes & businesses passed by the national broadband, would choose to connect to it even after 15 years.
The documents also show that Tasmania originally wanted the NBN rolled out mostly via wireless technology, rather than fibre, as a more cost effective method.
The state owned power retailer, Aurora, has played down the data, insisting its of limited relevance etc. etc.
Comment...Even with a scenario where KRudd rules with aid of Greens, these figures added to all those many other, surely mean NBN is dead in the water.
