We are being screwed, Osi, without lube.
I refuse to join NBN because 1. the plan charges will be higher than those of my current plan,
    2. There will be no benefit to me in my area.
My ADSL is working through an ancient copper wire system, that in my vicinity will never be upgraded to fibre optic.
The fibre optic one sees being installed will only come about half way to my door...... the rest of the copper wire will remain, along with all the intermittent faults that occur in it. Connections for myself and others are becoming more erratic and slower. The belief is that this is due to an intentional downgrade of current services to entice people to go over to NBN.
I was informed by someone involved on the technical side that Telstra had sold all its local lines to the other telcos, and that a lot of us will never see fibre optic near our residences.
So, I have about 18 months to put up or shut up, and by then, I wont need the service. They can put the NBN white elephant where the sun dont shine. I'm not going NBN.

    GZ
