The original design was fibre to the premises . A few lucky people got this, most of us got landed with the Liberal party pile of garbage called fibre to the node when Abbot tasked Turnball to come up with something that did not give the credit to ALP . Now they have changed to Fibre to the curb simply because fibre to the node does not work . Drop outs are frequent the copper between the node and the premises is actually crumbling in the techs hands while they work on it . The last time it dropped out on me requiring a technician to work on the stretch between the node and my place it took three days to get one and he fixed it by turning my neighbours off . She called a technician goodness knows whose got turned off when hers was fixed . The firs drop out took six weeks to get a technician so I guess I should be happy that over the years they have improved .
