    The one thing I take away from the election is that no policy of any substance is likely to be put through the senate in the next three years as the parties are balanced and the electorate is fed up with the soap opera of big government and further waste of public resources. I dont have any great love for Abbott but I am delighted that he has succeeded in punishing Gillard and her corrupt Labor crew for their incompetancy.

    As for the indepedents, they will be in the position of being able to demand anything to get policy over the line.

    As for the NBN the next wave of the economic downturn is upon us and Australia does not have the public finances to spend money on rubbish like this and the whole project is likely to be shelved amid "consultation".

    The mining tax is also likely a dead duck, cant see it going through the senate in this environment. Without that the Labor pork barrelling is unfunded and lots of sacred cows will be put on the fire.

    Well done Liberal - hope those postal votes come in the right way and punish labor even more.
