I expect this morning's announcement by Optus that it will launch 5G internet plans in two months to directly compete with the NBN will send both sides of politics into a panic to offload the NBN as quickly as possible. Telstra saw this coming some time ago and is now in the box seat. It will take the NBN off the government's hands (inserted into Infra Co) at a knock down price and continue merrily with its 5G rollout. We might have to modify that old Kerry Packer saying about Alan Bond: you only get one Labor/NBN in your lifetime.
