See my earlier post about the number of towers it would require to provide wireless broadband to everyone. Wireless works OK at the moment because the vast majority of people choos ADSL and the limited amount of wireless bandwidth is shared amongst the current low number of wireless users.

In any case the spectrum that would be needed for a full blown broadband wireless network will not become available until 2015. I would rather start NBN now and have it 50% completed by 2015.
