As I understand it, the Senate will vote on the bill before 12:30PM today.
The House of Representatives will convene on Monday to sign off on the bill before it can be given Royal ascent.

I hear that the Senate wasted 3 hours yesterday debating standing orders so as to extend the time allocated for debating the NBN bill.
This is quite often the case in both houses of parliament, where by more time is spent on debating standing orders, then debating about the actual bill at hand.

An opposition will use what ever tactics it can to delay the passage of a bill.
Anyone who has spent any time in a kindergarten would know that this sort of behaviour is very becoming of 3-5 year old children.
