Don't know why the government does not take advantage of the global meltdown to cancel the whole NBN. At least it provides a decent excuse. The whole idea is just fanciful and would destroy the current level of comnpetition that exists amongst the smaller telcos in the market.
The NBN was just an election promise and we know that such things are generally not kept. The sooner it is disbanded then the sooner confidence will return to the telsco sector of the stock market.
I'd rather they put the money into infrastructure for areas that really matter eg hospital and other health facilities.
