Rubbish yeldub. you just have to look at the traditional telco industry in Australia versus the US as proof that multiple providers and the competitiveness will provide users with substantially better and cheaper service. As a monopoly, who cares about the consumer right? Not as if they can get an alternative. Oh wait a minute, they will be able to, and cheaper with other technologies. The NBN covers to wide an area to ever be profitable. The only way this would have been possible is for an unprecedented take up of service, a take up never seen anywhere else in the world.
