The eleven billion telstra agreement was struck back in June only a day or two before Rudd was sacked.

So am I to assume they all knew this was going to save them $8 bill from their original costings, yet they could not tell the Australian people in the lead up to the election? I remember a very desperate Julia during the campaign, but this great news was ignored despite needing good news.

And it also slipped through the media - perhaps they had not been given enough information to discern this?

There's something not quite right about this. It's reminiscent of Swans MRRT which would disadvantage their projected revenue hardly a cracker. Perhaps it's just another Rudd dud legacy being straightened out and all this bull about $42 bill was always a present to himself in the future when he revealed how much money he saved?

Now the plebs can bless Julia for the savings, they have short memories and will forget the basis of the deal was drawn up under the prime minister who was a failure.

Only time will tell what's really going on, but if history repeats, they will be found spinning again. All too late of course.

Here's hoping they really wont have to spend that $8 bill and will direct it to pay down debt.
