NBN does what it says on the tin

Telstra is the only telco who dont know how to install it properly, they will try and force you to install a backup battery if you want a phone line, and they also wont install the phone line at the white box for the NBN, they will force you to use one of their modems and pigy back your hand set off their modem. And tell you there is no other way. Even if you raise it with the TIO they will argue with them the same story.

All other telco's will install it without backup battery and with the PSTN line on the actual NBN box so you are free to use any router you like. If you dont use the backup battery then its only 1 box they install in the house, and the backup battery is pointless if your router and phone is not on a UPS anyway

25mb plan downloads about 8GB per hour
50mb plan downloads about 16GB per hour
100mb plan downloads about 32GB per hour

as its fiber it doesnt matter how far you are from exchange like it does with DSL

Use any telco except telstra (they are also most expensive)
