NCM hit $40.00 nearly three years ago when gold first hit US$1,000.
Now here we are today with gold rising strongly to over US$1,400 and you wouldn't know it with NCM currently getting smashed, being sold down 45 cents to $39.26 after hitting $40.05. Let's also not forget we've got record copper prices and NCM produces a decent amount of copper.
Yet NCM is lower than when gold was US$400 cheaper.
Why are leading gold shares performing like this?
1. It's pretty obvious to me, just like there are attempts to manage the paper gold price, so there are attempts to manage the paper price of leading gold equities such as NCM. Jim Sinclair has mentioned on numerous times how gold equities are being naked shorted.
2. The market sentiment is decided by the leaders in that sector.
3. If leading gold equities like NCM do not explode in price then this prevents the average person who invests in shares from taking their money out of other sectors and out of their bank accounts where it is earning minimal interest and putting it into gold shares.
