sure, but the fundamental side would say that there is already huge positive sentiment towards newcrest as people are prepared to pay 25X eps now when a jewel in the portfolio is still being fixed and gold aud is well off the highs of last QTR with rates rising and AUD rising.

time will tell, that's what makes a market, I thought the same thing at 27 and it came down as cadia had problem, now there is the issue of gold price, terrible margin at telfer, future capex and main mine still being ramped.....

Whats interesting is its stella rise in the last week as GDX shares fell significantly as well as gold aud price....

Personally I think there is a reason its below the 50 100 and 200 DMA's

might have been a few shorts being flushed or playing the production report

Goldman target now 22, RBC 24 (both aud) of course Goldman has been the big seller of late
