The taxpayer should not be called on to cover every safety net, that an individual may require in their life.
As much as the NDIS was a Gillard thing, Tony Abbott agreed to it blindly. We are broke, and we cannot afford to offer the bells and whistles we do.
This debt, that the last ten years of mismanagement has lumbered us with, will have to be repaid; by taxing some more, or less benefits for others, and neither side of government wants to break the bad news to us. We'll never start retiring the debt whilst we are running constant deficits.
The longer till the politicians act responsibly, the tougher the measures will eventually need be.
