I am not absolving the LNP. Clearly the NDIS is out of control and the LNP should have used political capital to do something, especially the last couple of years when the new costings came out projecting colossal figures way above what voters were told by Rudd/Gilliard. Trouble is 1) it is hard to make reforms to the organisation due to structure and 2) any changes to legislation or cost saving directives to NDIS board would be met with a storm of "you don't care about disabled people" rhetoric. Remember how quickly the LNP shelved the idea of 3rd party opinions on funding packages, it took about two days before they gave up.
