The question should be how to do change the system so people like this aren't eligible in the first place?

The problems from this go way beyond the cost too, there's so many "disabled" like those you describe, the genuinely disabled are now finding it impossible to get the services they NEED because there simply aren't enough workers to do it all.

The NDIS is a sham, dreamed up by the Gillard mess and sadly continued by the LNP since. The new govt needs to take a big axe to this mess and start again, fund it properly via a compulsory levy on EVERYONE(and i mean everyone) and put proper checks, balances and limits on the who gets access and what they receive. They should use the model of the Transport Accident Commission here in Victoria where it's a govt owned, "private" organisation, it isn't perfect but it's far better than any public service run mess
