From today, 1 Dec, information on rare earths exports from China have to be reported. Has or will this impact rare earth prices? Yet to be determined.
Another factor impacting the sector will be the detail around which EVs qualify for subsidies in the Inflation Reduction Act, detail being released today in the US. Vehicles containing Chinese minerals and parts are meant to be out, although carmakers will surely be cut some slack because, as things stand today, what vehicle doesn't contain something made in China?
Interesting to see how it all plays out.
