New year with many changes. The biggest thing that effected me was that SMM for the last week No longer publishes RMB prices WV. They do publish in more currencies now I have decided Covert USD NV to RMB WV. Vs go back and change years of historical data which would need the exchange rate on every day I had recorded data for. So here is the first week of Recorded data . Correction is that days exchange rate times 1.13 to add VAT back in
The only major change I have notice recently other than slowly falling prices in general. is NdO falling Faster than PrO. PrO is used many as a darkening agent in automatic sunglasses and things like welders Helmets. All the mirrors in my car auto dim. Its demand is stable and only Supply changes causes a change in price. NdO primary applications of course is Magnets. In Magnets like refrigerator magnets The PrO does not change any thing. In low end motor magnets it is not a problem, As magnets improve he NdO may be increased by just adding a little Pure NdO to the NdPrO . When you make High performance motors you need mostly pure NdO. Pure speculation on my part is the fall off in demand for high performance magnets is causing NdO and NdPrO to fall faster than other REEs. Remember that China added 50 SX lines in the last 4 years so they are making a lot more.
