If this legislation passes it's worth tens of millions of dollars annually to Lynas' bottom line. Our annual profit figure literally jumps by 10% without doing anything!!! Should see the share price zoom back at $8.00 without too much trouble.

    February 10, 2025

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has desperately pushed forward with his production tax credits scheme that will hand $13.7 billion to "big business and multinationals" in pursuit of Labor's net-zero strategy.

The Albanese government has been desperately pushing forward with its production tax credit legislation, hoping to pass it through the Senate before the election.Amid criticism the policy hands billions to "big business and multinationals", the crossbench has been debating the proposal in the upper house. Meanwhile, independent Senator Jacqui Lambie has called on the government to take an equity stake in the minerals companies to help fund health and education. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will advocate the $13.7 billion scheme to the sector at the Australian Industry Group's annual dinner on Monday..The billions in tax breaks for green hydrogen and critical minerals production have been a major pillar of Labor’s Future Made in Australia agenda.

In what is likely to be one of his final speeches before the federal election, Mr Albanese will argue that these tax credits are essential to securing Australia’s economic future.“Our Future Made in Australia plan is about Australian workers and Australian companies making things here,” Mr Albanese will tell industry leaders.“Production tax credits to incentivise value-adding in clean energy and critical minerals.“New investments in green metals, securing the future of our aluminium industry and the tens of thousands of jobs it supports.”
