Yes it has taken a big one day leap up and for sure that is a good. It is still below its mid March to early April price of >US$ 54.00. It is still less than half of what gave the A$541M profits, 2022 AR. Lynas announced that as of February they will no longer be capitalizing KAL expenses. Do you have any idea how much this will cause expenses to rise in FY 2026? JMO About what they made in 2024 A$71M and very likely much more than they will make in 2015. Why do I say this See my post 14/05/25 Post #: 79046750 and tell me why my numbers are wrong.
"Commencing in February 2025, Lynas Kalgoorlie costs transitioned from the Capital account to the Operating account." Bottom page 7 Q3 Report. Do you understand the effect of this on Lynas profits? Did you even see it? Expenses are much higher at KAL than Lamp C&L and the depreciation of the A$800M + will be large. It is possible because of the Value verses output of Lamp C&L VS KAL they will have to take a one time write off of KAL likely multiple A$100Ms Since they have only made A $ 141M since 2009 this will mean Lynas has made nothing in their entire history. I do not know enough about AU accounting to know for sure. This would happen in US. With only a Couple of exceptions. See chart at bottom for details. 2025 not included, A$5.9M would not change anything
If you are going to get excited about every little blip I think you should have some idea of what is needed, to return Lynas to a reasonable level of profitability. I assume the reason you are excited is you know that higher prices are what is needed to raise Profits & EPS, Lower PE, I have put my numbers out for what is needed in both RMB with VAT and US$ no VAT. I have never seen any numbers from you. Please post. Here is the entire history since 2022 in RMB WV. Sorry it only shows end of month prices. This is because EXCEL has data limits for charts. I would prefer weekly. It has too many data points. I know I have posted this many times, It is because I think people like you just do not understand how much NdPrO has to go up to make even 2023 profits, A$310M. They become very happy with every small blip up. Yes it helps but how much is very important. Does it break out of the pattern we have been in for over a year? Also Lynas is now probably receiving better than SMM price for reasons I stated in Post #: 78720980 on 16 April. Both China and non China prices will change a lot as Trump and XI spar over tariffs and restrictions. Usually in opposite direction on a daily or weekly basis. Product is shipped from China Their prices go up non China goes down. Product is restricted their prices go down non China go up. It is economics 101. Supply and demand. When this is all over prices should stabilize. Probably higher unless our leaders drive us into a deep correction or maybe even a recession. Then they will be lower because demand will drop. Iin turbulent times like right now it is far more important to understand why things are happening and what is needed than track every little blip.
