Much of what you say is correct. If you take a fully loaded Camray or accord VS a fully loaded Model 3 The model 3 cost about USD 0.20 per mile more to drive for 10 years and 200,000 miles. Now the Model 3 is better I would gladly pay 0.05 more per mile to drive it. 0.10?
Plug in Hybrids have about 1/6 the batteries. 50 miles per charge VS 300 Miles. The motors are smaller than a full EV, but getting bigger. They have the advantage that for most drivers they can do most of their driving on battery. They have the advantage in these time of energy shortages they can run from two fuel sources. So look at more of the picture.

I will agree with you on one thing. GS believes we are going into a major recession. As I do. So estimates are now maybe a little over pessimistic. They were also very optimistic a year ago. This is human nature to over correct as things change. You on the other hand do not seem at all aware of how much things will change. JMO you probably were not an investor in 2008
