Yes I agree Mapmart is a bit antiquated but I would take a technical high ground on that. However it is integrated into so many systems and it does offer a range of imageries which can be viewed, and it is one of the biggest in the US.
Ad hoc I don't think so. Many state govt GIS group utilise it as a one stop shop. It is like a commercial version of OpenTopography if you like.
SPI/Eagle for the bigger project maybe, at a cheaper cost for equality of visuals, and Drones for the detailed stuff. Nearmap squeazed out at both ends. What do you think?
